Trauma Aware Yoga
The terms ‘Trauma Informed’ and ‘Trauma Aware’ both refer to an environment, service or person who knows the effects of trauma and seeks to hold and manage them in a non-excitatory way. What we might also call non-triggering way. Lots of the tools og yoga can have this capacity to create discomfort for people who have/do experience trauma. Hahra offers safety, groundedness and crisis management tools where needed threwded into the yoga exploration.
Hahra has worked with many groups/individuals that relied on a trauma informed and aware teacher/space through which to access yoga. They have taught to specific groups of childhood sexual assault survivors, survivors of domestic and family violence, veterans and frontline workers.
Hahra has also worked with people living through family illness, death loss and grief. All of these experiences being gently held at the front of the practice so there is no shame, no need to section off emotions and a place where these experiences are seen.
Importantly Hahra's classes created a safe space for connected community healing and growth through these difficult experiences that we encounter in life.
